Mite Programs
Baltimore Youth Hockey Club (BYHC) has programs for players 6U and 8U, which focus on instruction and development based on USA Hockey's American Development Model. In addition to skills development, BYHC expects to field two 8U travel teams that participate in the CBHL.
BYHC will also participate in a pre-season jamboree, the Reisterstown Rampage. This is available for all players.

6U: 2020 and 2021 birthyears
8U: 2018 and 2019 birthyears
When
Programs start in October and run through the end of February.
Where
The Baltimore Stars utilize Reisterstown Sportsplex in Baltimore County and Mt. Pleasant Ice Arena in Baltimore City for practices and home games.
Skills Sessions
Two skills sessions are scheduled each week during the season.
Games
Players participate in informal cross-ice and half-ice games during skills sessions. Teams will also be formed to participate in Jamborees in the region.
For players that tryout and are selected for 8U Travel teams, additional games will be scheduled against teams within the DMV region.
Jerseys
Jerseys and socks will be provided by the club.

What is the difference between Rec and Travel?
The BYHC Mite Rec program is focued on skills development and teaching basic game fundamentals to young hockey players. All sessions occur on Thursday evenings at Reisterstown Sportsplex and Saturday mornings at Mount Pleasant Ice Arena. On occasion, BYHC may participate in local ice hockey jamborees, which are fun, developmental tournaments that allow players the opportunity to play against other rec programs in the area.
8U Travel participates in the Chesapeake Bay Hockey League. In addition to skills sessions, there are team practices, league games, and the opportunity to participate in jamborees.
