While we do advocate that all players have baseline testing performed, we also urge players that have potentially been concussed to see a neurologist or neuropsychologist for a full neurological evaluation before returning to play.
If a player has been deemed questionable after an on-ice incident, it is at the discretion of the coaching staff and/or other qualified individuals to remove a player from game play.
The CDC has a very comprehensive section on their website devoted to providing information about concussions. Please follow this link for the most up to date information.
The free CDC HEADS UP Concussion and Helmet Safety app will help you learn how to spot a possible concussion and what to do if you think your child or teen has a concussion or other serious brain injury.
The application also includes a 3D helmet fit feature that teaches about proper helmet fit, safety and care.
