New to Hockey? Get Started

If your son or daughter is new to the sport and interested in playing ice hockey, here's what you do.

1. Learn-to-Skate - Check with your local rink and / or our Camps & Clinics page for available programs and sign up for classes.

2. Hockey Basics / Learn to Play Hockey - Again, just the same as the above, check with your local rink and / or our Camps & Clinics page for available programs and sign up for classes.

3. Skate, skate and keep on skating at public skating sessions and stick-n-puck sessions at one of our local rinks.

4. Enroll your child in BYHC's recreational program.

Registration usually takes place early in the summer. The Baltimore Youth Hockey Club has an incredible deal for Atoms X-ice and Mites Half-Ice. Get registered now.

It is also a great idea to have a professional help you. The folks at East Coast Hockey & Skating Supply at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel are very good. And don't forget to ask them for the Baltimore Stars discount.
