The Baltimore Youth Hockey Club has a long rich history of community service in the Baltimore metropolitan area. BYHC volunteers time and/or makes monetary commitments to support service organizations that are dedicated to helping those in need.

Our members are encouraged and do volunteer in the following ways:

The BYH Coach-in-Training Program furthers our commitment to provide players with access to the best possible instruction, foster lifelong enjoyment of and participation in hockey for BYH players of every age, and instill a deep sense of community to all members of our Club. 

Under the Program, BYH players over the age of 14 have the opportunity to learn the finer points of coaching hockey under the guidance of a team of mentors made up of our most experienced coaches. CIT’s will participate in a season-long learning program which includes an active role in working with our 8U and 10U players both on and off the ice.

CIT’s will earn volunteer/service learning credits while gaining the knowledge and support required to complete USA Hockey’s coaching certification.

BYHC has developed the Midgets Mentor Mites program to strengthen the bonds between our players of different ages. Our high school aged players can volunteer to help out with our youngest players and earn community service hours.

Hockey for Less Fortunate and At-Risk Youth

Each season, Baltimore Youth Hockey contracts the Patterson Park Ice Rink on Sundays from 9:45 - 11:00am. The children are outfitted and loaned new and used hockey equipment for their use throughout the program. 

Baltimore Area Special Hockey

Baltimore Area Special Hockey, Inc. offers an ice hockey program for both children and adults with a traumatic brain injury or intellectual disability such as Autism and Down Syndrome .
